RPL Application

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the process of comparing the skills and knowledge you have acquired through work and life experiences, and make an assessment of how it transfers to the requirements of a training course.

Credit Transfer recognises formal education and training that you have previously completed (such as a vocational qualification or university degree). The previously completed course is mapped against the requirements of the qualification offered by MiTraining to determine the extent of its equivalency.

What's involved

To gain RPL, your skills will be assessed against industry standards and the specific requirements of the training course. An RPL assessor will review the evidence you have provided in order to make an assessment of how your skills and knowledge transfer to the course.

Evidence to support RPL takes the form of an initial application, and may include a request for additional information including samples of your work, job decriptions, performance appraisals and a formal discussion.

How to apply

Once your application fees is received, you will be required to complete the RPL Application Form. The RPL Application Form can be viewed under the Forms section of our Policies and Procedures page.

This form enables our RPL Assessor to make an initial judgement of how closely your skills and experience match the requirements of the course for which you are seeking recognition. The more information you can provide with the application will assist the assessor to provide the best possible outcome.

If you're ready to apply click the Book Now button on this page to pay the non-refundable application fee. If you have questions about the process or the type of evidence required, click Send Enquiry or call us on 1300 549 190.
